Airplane Flight Instructor Course - FI

The Airplane Flight Instructor Rating FI(A) allows the holder to provide flight and theory instruction to student pilots undertaking the Private Pilot Pilot/Aircraft (PPL/A) and/or the Commercial Pilot/Aircraft Instructor (CPL/A) course and fulfilling the necessary requirements to become an FI Flight Instructor.

Requirements to become an FI flight instructor

FI (A) training program

The FI training course is divided into 3 parts:

Teaching & Learning course.
Refresher theoretical instruction.
Flying instruction.

THEORETICAL TRAINING

25 hours – Teaching & Learning.
100 hours – Teaching Programme to refresh knowledge of the subjects of the Private Pilot syllabus + Theoretical aircraft course.
Theoretical Test (Classroom Presentation).
Practical Training.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

30 hours of flight (Dual) – (in which the student acts as an Instructor teaching the Instructor).
Flight Test (With Examiner).

The FI flight instructor course includes

THEORETICAL TRAINING

Theoretical lessons.

FLIGHT TRAINING

Practical (flying) lessons.
Exam flight time.

Duration of training FI

Theoretical training: The estimated duration of the theoretical course is 7 weeks.
Practical training: The estimated duration of the practical training is 5 weeks.

TOTAL: 12 weeks.
