At our school, World Aviation Flight Academy, the price for obtaining a pilot’s license varies depending on the type of license you wish to achieve. For a Private Pilot License (PPL), the approximate cost ranges between 10,000 and 12,000 euros. For a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), it ranges from 30,000 to 40,000 euros. The Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), which is required to work as a commercial airline pilot, is estimated to be between 60,000 and 80,000 euros. These amounts apply to airplane pilot licenses and are somewhat higher for helicopter pilot training, where the aircraft model used has a significant impact on the cost. All amounts include theoretical and practical training, as well as the minimum flight hours required for each license.

In general, a first-year professional pilot in Spain can expect an annual salary of between 30,000 and 40,000 euros. With experience and seniority, the salary will increase exponentially, potentially exceeding 100,000 euros per year for captains at major airlines.

The duration of airplane pilot training varies depending on the type of license and the student’s dedication, but generally, it can be completed in a period ranging from 18 to 24 months for the ATPL, around 12 months for the CPL, and approximately 5 months for the PPL.
