A330 TYPE RATING 1

A330 Type Rating program is aimed at those pilot candidates who want to carry out their A330 type rating (EASA) at WA Flight Academy, one of the most demanded long haul aircraft in the history of aviation by all airlines worldwide, being undoubtedly the most competitive model and with the most professional options in our industry.

We offer this program along with an initial phase which Includes sessions on our static A330 simulator to be able to get familiar with the flight deck, the different normal and abnormal procedures, in an immersive way, before moving on to the sessions in the A330 Level D FFS simulator in our base in Madrid.

Our instructors have more than 15,000 real flight hours and high experience in the training field, guaranteeing their excellent quality as WA Flight Academy instructors.

Theoretical Phase

Program structured in 18 days / 6 hours of daily teaching load, which include procedures and systems training, with the corresponding progress test and final exam.

Simulator Phase

Base Flight Training

In the flight training for multi-pilot aircraft, a number of take-offs and take-offs will be determined, which will vary depending on the experience of the pilot and the characteristics of the aircraft previously flown:

  • Pilot with more than 500 hours in an aircraft of similar size and performance must make at least 4 landings where a Go-Around will be carried out, and at least one of the landings with a complete stop.

  • In all other cases that do not comply with this experience, normally at least 6 landings plus a Go Around and in the same way, a landing with a complete stop must be completed

Zero Flight Time Training

A pilot conducting instruction in a ZFTT course must have completed, in a multi-pilot turbojet aircraft certified according to CS-25 standards or equivalent airworthiness code or in a multi-pilot turboprop aircraft with a maximum certified take-off mass of not less than 10 tons or a certified passenger seating configuration of more than 19 passengers, at least:

  • 1500 flight hours or 250 route sectors if a qualified FFS at the provisional CG, C or C level is used during the course.

  • 500 flight hours or 100 route sectors if an FFS qualified at DG, D level is used during the course.

An additional session will be held at FFS, led by a TRI who will act as a Pilot.This session will take place within 21 days of the skill test at the FFS.

Additional information

Special attention will be paid to the briefings, and de-briefings where the flight profile and the objectives of this session are carefully prepared. All the necessary considerations will be taken by the instructor in accordance to learning objectives and competencies.
