Together in a solidarity project aimed to bring aviation closer to people at risk of social exclusion or with functional diversity.
On the morning of Friday, November 18th, in World Aviation dependencies at Cuatro Vientos Airport, a plane labeled with the ASF logo was presented. The act meant the beginning of the joint venture for which company and association have come together. This project is focused on giving the opportunity to experience initiation flights, in helicopter as well as airplane, for people of different associations. The initiative is called Wings of the Smile and is only one of the many projects ASF carries out.
The aircraft chosen to show the logo is a Cessna C172N with 4 seating capacity. This model is used for different activities such as outreach flights or crossing and visual flights.
The act was opened by Alberto Delgado, World Aviation CEO, who said a few words: “To me, this means the beginning of a long journey. Our only interest is to give wings and bring joy to those people who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to enjoy such experience”. After this, Gorka Imizcoz, president of ASF, remarked “ We are very excited to be here today, if somewhere we are to get Wings of the Smile, it will be this plane”.
The day ended with both, company and association, exchanging ideas and setting next dates for new flight baptisms, collaborations and ways to promote and make the project grow.
