What fuel does an aircraft use?
Fuel varies depending on the type of aircraft and its engine. Do you know how many litres you can fit in an aircraft tank? We tell you all the details.
The pilot training, despite not belonging to the purely scientific field requires a basic knowledge of mathematics and physics that ensures the correct understanding of the subjects to be studied. Therefore, when starting our academic education, it is recommended to opt for a science branch that will provide us with a good basis for our further training.
At present, the Administration does not require specific qualifications or prior training to begin a pilot course. However, training centers are asked to guarantee, through level tests, that students have a minimum knowledge before starting the course.
On the other hand, English is the language used in the aeronautical world. Manuals, checklists, radio communications, etc, are in this language. So, certain level before starting that can be improved throughout the course will be of great help to pass the later language proficiency examination required by the competent authority.
As said before, mathematics and physics are a constant in pilot training as they intervene in several subjects. That’s the importance of having a good basis that provides you with the necessary tools to start this career without difficulty.
Therefore, we recommend that previous studies focus on scientific or technological matters. This does not mean that whoever goes into Arts cannot undertake this training. The necessary knowledge on both subjects is acquired throughout the course so that, at the end, the students have the perfect level in order to perform the job with success.
To start this career it is not necessary to have a high level in science, mathematics and physics. However, since Mathematics intervenes in subjects such as Navigation or Weight and Balance and Physics in Flight Principles or Meteorology, as both are based on principles and laws of Physics, a basic knowledge to start should be very helpful so as to make understanding easier and funnier.
The pilot proffesion, besides requiring a specific training, requires certain personal skills and aptitudes very convenient to develop the job. Some of these skills include:
