High altitude experiences

Flying with World Aviation

Blog

The SGplus team put itself in the hands of top-level aeronautics specialists to experience first-hand what it is like to view the earth from a helicopter.

Going with World Aviation Helicopters turned out to be a safe bet. The conditions were ideal for enjoying this luxury service, 12,000 feet in the air, where we could take in the landscape from a different perspective.

The adventure began at Finca La Concepción where we boarded the EC-130 B4, VIP, high- performance mono turbine helicopter with capacity for 6 passengers, ideal for transfers and flights in demanding conditions. While the team of experts gave us instructions and made sure that the security measures were in order, the SG Plus crew prepared ourselves for the experience to come.

Although the intense spin of the propellers stirred the surrounding nature, we could enjoy the smooth take-off thanks to the cocoon of our helmets which kept us connected to the pilot at all times. Then, as the ground shrank beneath us, the real show began.

High altitude experiences 1

The outline of the coast and the changing colours of the sea as it stretches toward the horizon. The sight of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Rock in the background. The birds- eye view of the residential developments, homes and various buildings that intermingle with nature. But, above all, the intensity of the colours seen from above and under a radiant spring sun, turned this playful trip along the Costa del Sol into a true gift for the senses.

When you’re up that high, you would never know you are moving at 220 km/h. The perspective changes and everything seems to go in slow motion. But adrenaline plays a role too, it has to be said, especially when turning and descending to land again, at least when it’s your first time flying in a helicopter. A highly recommended experience, especially if you don’t suffer from vertigo and enjoy new sensations, discovering unique places and seeing the land from a different perspective.

The World Aviation Flight Academy offers training courses for helicopter, airplane and drone pilots, as well as aeronautical training at the Cuatro Vientos aerodrome centres in Madrid and Málaga Pablo Picasso International Airport. Consulting is another of the company’s strengths, offering its clients financial and legal advice; aircraft management and maintenance; aeronautical engineering and components; preparation and adaptation of operating manuals; interpretation of aeronautical regulations, development and execution of engineering projects for the construction of aerodromes, heliports and airports; and financial services for the comprehensive development of projects.

Aerial work includes photography and filming, observation and patrolling, external loading, aerial advertising, and drone services.
