The first course to obtain the type rating of the historical and emblematic aircraft of Spanish aviation, Super Saeta HA – 220, has been succesfully completed by World Aviation.
On January 4th, at Reus airport (Tarragona) base, a remarkable event took place: the candidate and owner of the aircraft, Carlos Bravo became a Super Saeta pilot thanks to the passion and commitment to aviation of the candidate himself, the instructor and the school.
The Super Saeta HA – 220 is a flagship aircraft of the Spanish aviation of the 60s, being one of the first reactors with a pressurized cabin, which positioned Spain in the international aviation market.
It was operated by the 214 Air Force Squadron for school missions until its withdrawal in 1981. The remaining units were auctioned and purchased by different people.
This Model 214 – 107 was restored, piece by piece, and put into service by the owner in 2003.
The peculiarity of this event is that it is a plane of special characteristics as it is a military aircraft, with two turbine reactors, which requires a very specific rating to fly it.
A project of such magnitude could not have been carried out without the tenacity and values of such an aviator like Carlos, and the perseverance of an aeronautical company like World Aviation. Together they have created a bond that transcends aviation and culminates in the passion of turning what is difficult into an extraordinary and unique adventure.
