PPL-A COURSE

This entry-level flight accreditation provides you with the skill and knowledge necessary for operating an aircraft safely and efficiently for purposes of leisure flying alone or with friends & family and allows the holder to self-hire an aircraft within the European Union and other countries where this license is recognized.

DURATION

The approximate duration of the course is about 5 months, although it will depend on the availability of the students and weather conditions. Likewise, if the applicant is in possession of a flight license (helicopter, ultralight, glider, etc.), the duration of the course may be reduced.

OBJECTIVE

To receive the PPL-A Private Airplane Pilot license certified by EASA | European Aviation Safety Agency, with which you can fly in accordance to visual flight rules (VFR), in visual meteorological conditions (VMC) in the class of airplane used during your training and participate without remuneration as pilot-in-command or co-pilot in aircraft engaged in non-commercial operations.

With this license, you can fly in all the countries of the European Union, if there is a notation of linguistic competence in the license at least at the operational level, in English.

Likewise, with this license it will be possible to opt for corresponding courses for the Visual Night Flight qualification, Instrumental Flight, Flight Instructor, etc.

In addition, it will serve as the first phase to access the Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot License through completing the different modular courses offered by World Aviation Flight Academy.

GETTING STARTED & GENERAL CONDITIONS

This PPL-A course can be started at any time. The student and World Aviation Flight Academy together will develop a training schedule, which will include theoretical and flight phases. This schedule may be modified at any time according to the student or academy needs.

The flight instructor will arrange the training sessions between 9:00 am and sunset, any day of the week, even holidays, according to agreed schedule.

The student pilot must assist to all theoretical classes and flight training, unless there’s a justified reason, bad weather, or safety or availability problems with the school’s aircraft.

World Aviation Flight Academy has the right to decide whether to present the student pilot for AESA’s exams or not if it considers that he/she is not sufficiently prepared to undertake the said exams with due guarantee of success.

During the course, the student will be covered by an insurance according to the law, which releases World Aviation Flight Academy of any additional responsibility.

THEORY INSTRUCTION

The theoretical study program of the PPL-A course consists of 100 hours of study time distributed over 12 weeks and available in E-learning and class-room presence. Once course objectives have been completed and the internal progress tests have been successfully passed, the student must take 9 official theoretical exams.

FLIGHT TRAINING

The practical part of the PPL-A course is made up of a minimum of 45 hours of actual training flight, of which 10 hours will be SOLO flight as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), including at least 5 hours of cross-country flight with a minimum of 1 cross-country flight of at least 270 km (150 NM), during which 2 landings with a complete stop will be made at aerodromes other than the starting one.

EXAMS

THEORY

The theoretical knowledge exams for FCL PPL-A Licenses and Ratings are those established by the Commission's Community Regulations on obtaining flight crew licenses in accordance with the requirements of EASA and AESA. The student must obtain a score of at least 75% in the multiple-choice type exams in the 9 subjects. The exams can be taken at the SENASA headquarters in, Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca within the established calendar.

PRACTICAL

Applicants will demonstrate the ability to act as pilot-in-command in the appropriate aircraft category, the procedures and manoeuvres corresponding with the appropriate competence to the privileges granted by the PPL-A, and must have received flight instruction in the same type of aircraft to be used for the skill test. 1.5hrs Skill test on Cessna 172 or Piper PA28 with flight examiner.

This dynamic aerodrome offers an ideal training ground with many of the characteristics of the largest airports and a combination of congested airspace with open terrain areas perfect for cross-country flight and navigation. Our modern facilities and classrooms offer a pleasant and professional learning environment.

MÁLAGA - COSTA DEL SOL​

Main base is Málaga-Costa Del Sol International Airport with additional classrooms and training areas in Vélez-Málaga / La Axarquía. The advantages for the student include learning how to operate at various aerodromes with a variety of conditions, from a congested international airport to regional and differently characterized airstrips. In addition, the Costa del Sol offers very varied flight conditions including flight in mountain areas, providing the student-pilot with a complete flight experience.
