OBJECTIVE

Course intended for Private Pilots (PPL) or Commercial Pilots (CPL) with or without ATPL who wish to expand their capabilities to be able to fly under Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR) associated with Multi-Engine Aircraft (MEP).

In case the student does not hold the Multi-Engine Class (MEP) training, he / she this is included in the course structure.

GETTING STARTED & GENERAL CONDITIONS

The IR course (MEP) can be started at any time and the student-pilot together with World Aviation Flight Academy, will establish a training schedule, both theoretical and in- flight which, where appropriate, can be modified with prior notice, according to the needs of the students- pilots.

Flight training will be carried out in the periods determined by the flight instructor during the hours between 09:00 and sunset, every day of the week, including holidays, according to the availability of programming. The student-pilot must attend all scheduled classroom and flight theory classes, except only those justified by personal reasons, adverse weather, safety or problems of unavailability of aircraft either due to mandatory revisions or unforeseen breakdowns.

World Aviation Flight Academy reserves the right not to present the student-pilot to the exams if it considers that the student-pilot is not sufficiently prepared to take them.

During the IR course (MEP), the student-pilot will be covered with the insurance policies that in each case are in force in accordance with the law, exempting World Aviation Flight Academy from any additional responsibility.

THEORY INSTRUCTION

Modular students who proceed with the approved theoretical ATPL (A) enjoy full credit for the theoretical part of this modular course. In this case, students who request it can choose refreshment classes on the online platform.

Students with a Private Pilot (PPL) or Commercial Pilot (CPL) license who DO NOT have passed the Theoretical Airline Transport (ATPL) course, must complete 150 hours of theoretical knowledge teaching divided into 8 subjects:

  • Air law
  • General knowledge of the aircraft
  • Flight performance and planning
  • Human factors
  • Meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Principles of flight
  • Operational procedures

PRACTICAL TRAINING

The practical training of the IR course (MEP) is divided into two combined modules which are undertaken concurrently*.

These are the Basic Instrumental Flight Module and the Instrumental Flight Procedural Module. World Aviation Flight Academy uses for these courses a PBN certified FNPT II / MCC simulator (LNAV, LNAV / VNAV, SBAS). Within the 40 hours of the procedural module all appropriate PBN training is performed.

BASIC MODULE

  • 5 hrs of dual command instruction in FNPT II
  • 5 hrs of instruction in dual command in multi-engine aircraft

PROCEDURAL MODULE

  • 40 hrs of dual command instruction in FNPT II
  • 10 hrs of instruction in dual command in multi-engine aircraft

(*) The holder of a CPL (A) Commercial Pilot License issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1 can reduce the entire required flight instruction in 5 hours.

EXAMS

THEORY EXAMS

The electronic theoretical knowledge exams for FCL Licenses and Ratings are those established by the Commission's Community Regulations on obtaining flight crew licenses in accordance with the requirements of EASA and AESA for obtaining flight licenses. The student must obtain a score of at least 75% on test-type exams in the 8 subjects. The exams may be carried out at the headquarters of, Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca within the established calendar.

SKILL TESTS

At the end of the procedural module, which is preceded by the multi-engine class rating, the combined class rating and IR “skill test” will be performed according to Appendix 9 FCL. In addition, a second independent test will be carried out in the FNPT II to certify the applicant's PBN capacity according to Appendix 7 or 9 FCL.
