ATPL FROZEN MODULAR

COMMERCIAL PILOT AND AIRLINE TRANSPORT PLANE

NEWS

What is the ATPL?

The objective of the Commercial Pilot Course and Airline Transport Airplane is that the student obtains his commercial pilot title as soon as possible according to the regulations and can develop it in a personalized program.

With this license recognized by EASA I European Aviation Safety Agency, you will be able to act as pilot in command (PIC) or co-pilot of any aircraft dedicated to operations other than commercial air transport; works as pilot-in-command in commercial air transport operations on any single-pilot certified aircraft and continue  like a co-pilot in commercial air transport.

In addition, we are going to detail the subjects that include, flight hours and other information about the ATPL course to resolve any possible questions before starting your pilot training.

What is the ATPL Frozen Modular?

The ATPL Frozen contains several phases of theoretical training, equivalent to the PPL (A) + ATPL (A) course, that is, more than 822 hours of theoretical instruction. In addition, the student will learn the theoretical knowledge necessary to take the modular Instrumental Habilitation (IR) courses and obtain the Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

Once the knowledge has been acquired and the internal progress tests have been satisfactorily passed, the student will have to pass (minimum of 75% in multiple choice exams) the following 14 subjects the DGAC (General Directorate of Civil Aviation).

  • Air legislation
  • General knowledge of the aircraft
  • Instrumentation
  • Loading and Centering
  • Performance
  • Flight Planning and Control
  • Human factors
  • Meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Radio navigation
  • Operational procedures
  • Principles of flight
  • VFR communications
  • IFR communications

Therefore, being in possession of a frozen ATPL means that the theoretical part has been passed, but the required flight hours have not yet been reached.

In order to ‘unfreeze’ the ATPL, EASA establishes that 1,500 flight hours carried out must be accumulated under the following minimum criteria:

  • 500 flight hours (either DM double command, or PIC pilot in command).
  • 250 flight hours PIC (Pilot in Command).
  • 200 hours of cross country flight (at least 100 as PIC).
  • 75 hours of IR instrument flight.
  • 100 hours of night flight NVFR (PIC or copilot).

Our course includes practical training that includes 263 flight hours, of which 203 hours will be carried out by plane and 60 in a certified simulator.

Training program. Modules

Our modular system allows maximum flexibility, being able to choose different dates per module as well as different face-to-face, blended and online training options.

With the modular ATPL, you become a pilot from the first license obtaining and you will gradually obtain the relevant accreditations, depending on the modules you pass, without having to wait to complete the full program.

Our program is developed in stages following different modules from less to greater complexity, deepening in each of the subjects.
