PRIVATE HELICOPTER PILOT´S LICENSE PPL-H

The PPL-H is the entry-level flight accreditation that provides the student-pilot with the skill and knowledge necessary for operating a helicopter safely and efficiently for purposes of leisure flying alone or with friends & family. This License allows the holder to self-hire a helicopter within the European Union and provides a way for building up the flight-hours necessary for a future CPL(H) accreditation or simply to develop skills and experience as an air-man.

COMMERCIAL HELICOPTER PILOT´S LICENSE CPL-H Modular

The modular CPL(H) course is ideal for those with previous flight experience looking to continue their training in order to achieve a commercial pilot´s license or students whose work schedule or time available does not allow for continuous intensive study and training. The benefit of the modular course is that the candidate will achieve a Private Pilot´s License first, enabling flight hour-building at your own pace until fulfilling requirements for the CPL(H) accreditation.

This course is perfect for students looking to achieve a commercial pilot´s license from the start. The study schedule is somewhat more intensive than the modular course and the student-pilot will be well on their way to a career as a Helicopter Pilot in 12-18 months.
Despite the faster pace of the study schedule, our courses do take into considerations individual differences and enable students to progress at a pace suitable for each particular case.

The aim of this course is to train holders of a helicopter pilot license to a level in which they are capable of safely effectively instructing pilots or student pilots for the issue, revalidation or renewal of all entitlements they hold in accordance with their experience and type-ratings as specified in EASA FCL.905.FI.

This program is designed to highlight the importance of the FI as a key element in safety through the teaching of theoretical knowledge, skills and attitudes.

To this end, the trainee will be taught methodological teaching techniques in both theoretical knowledge and flight exercises in order to guarantee that the trainee has a high standard of flying that allows him/her to safely perform the role of flight instructor.

Allows the holder to carry out instruction in flight for the issuing of, revalidation or renewal of Private Pilot´s License (PPL_H) in the corresponding category of aircraft, type-ratings for single-pilot, single-engine aircraft as well as Commercial Pilot´s Licenses (CPL-H) once the applicant has a completed a total of 500hrs of flight-time and 200hrs of Flight Instruction.

Course content:

Theory Instruction on Teaching & Learning – 25 hours

During this part the applicant will be taught the theoretical concepts in which the learning process of the student is based as well as the methodology and teaching techniques that any instructor must know in order to become an effective Instructor.

Theoretical Knowledge Instruction -100 hours

During this part of the course the applicant will be taught all the necessary theoretical concepts needed to conduct the training of future student pilots and which he or she will implement in the practical flight-training part of the course.

Instruction in Flight – Basic stage – 15 hours

The objective during this first stage is to train the applicant by providing him/her with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to perform flight manoeuvres according to the main elements of the teaching program, paying particular attention to the most common mistakes that beginner students-pilots make.

Instruction in Flight – Advanced stage – 15 hours

The objective during this stage is to train the applicants so that they are able to teach adequately during practical sessions as an instructor. They will be required to know the corresponding assessment criteria as well as the need to establish a pre-flight and post-flight briefing for each flight session.

Competence and skills:

The student will have received flight instruction in the same type of aircraft that will be used in the skills test. The skills test for the issue of FI(H) will be carried out by a FIE(H).
